Wasn't this posted like a week ago?

The models still haven't discovered what emotions are. They're so blank here.

they look like they're sneezing, not crying...

I hate this.

hm, it seems poorly done and in bad taste. It seems more mocking than a tribute.

Seriously. If I saw them at a funeral, I'd be thinking they were a bunch of golddiggers and not real mourners.

the models were pretty bad in "grieving" for yves saint laurent. if their emotions were more realistic and less cheesy, this would be SO MUCH better.

Meisel's shallowness doesn't usually matter, but here it's really tacky.

it looks more like a dolce&gabbana and j.p.gaultier tribute, than YSL.

this is quite tacky

Morbid.

August 10 2008, 23:50:17 UTC 3 years ago

Eh, whatever, I think it's interesting enough to evoke its own story. I rather like it.

I love the whole funeral idea for a shoot, but this was lacking something. It's more morbid than anything (which usually is a good thing), but in the long run these images are supposed to sell clothes not caskets.

You...love the idea of a funeral for a photoshoot?
This is sick...and not in the good way.
This is twisted and sick.
Are you people really that fashion fucked?
It's not cute to morn.
Stupid fucks.

mourn* and lighten up a bit, stupid fuck. :]

August 11 2008, 06:59:17 UTC 3 years ago

People stop! It's your opinion. And you have't right to name people of sick. This idea not new. If you know the history of a photography you should know about such current is post mortem. This whole epoch. Also it's impossible to consider people on all planet of sick! This photosession reminds post mortem.
Expand frameworks of your consciousness.
Be quieter plz.

P.S. Ssory for my bad english!

for a tribute to YSL, this is terrible.

[info]pipiare

August 11 2008, 14:48:23 UTC 3 years ago

I think it's a good idea executed very poorly. There is something about a funeral and, especially, graveyards, that has been dealt with many more times in art, and I don't think fashion photography should be exempt. ...but the clothes don't really seem to put forth the right mood, the photography in terms of composition and lighting just doesn't capture my interest, and I think you'd get more range of expression out of my pet dog than those models. (my schnoodle can at least look properly mournful!)

August 15 2008, 01:06:02 UTC 3 years ago

My thoughts exactly. This could have been executed in a much better way.

I like the B&W and silouettes, and no matter what else, women in black veils are hot, even at a funeral.

i love the atmosphere , but yes; these (super) models should taken more out of it

I feel like i'm looking at photos of holocaust victims [their expressions],
as harsh as that may be.

meisel, haha, meisel. Love it.

I think an editorial about his life's work would have been more meaningful than all this staged stylized grief which trivializes the whole thing.. as if his death is just an opportune occasion to have a photoshoot!
