I believe in the possibility of liking an artist's work without liking his or her personally. Amy Winehouse has songs that have resonated with me, even though that's as far as I've gotten with ~resonating~ with Amy Winehouse.
I actually like these photos if I don't think about who it is... it makes me sad that someone went from being semi normal looking to that waste of a huuman being she has become.
Well some of these are rather nice, however I think that is due to the Photoshop festival. Seriously, that shot with her pinching her stomach- did they bleach her hands?! Quite the contrast from her forearm in the last one.
Dear Mr.Adams: thank you for photoshopping out the smack tracks, try to be a bit more subtle next time.
Pity really, you can see under there that she's a sweet looking thing.
well at least they'll help alleviate some of the nightmares i'd been having from seeing her like this she is a pretty girl, she just needs to get her shit together. ..understatement.
Normally I would agree, but Amy Winehouse is a bloody mess any way you look at her. I mean, she's practically emphysemic now, in her mid-twenties. It's really sad.
But her music is bloody fantastic! And to be honest she does look like this when she is on concerts NOT on drugs obviously.. no one looks good hangover.
Nice set of images. Are they Photoshopped? Yes, but please let us not react as if they did anything to these images that is not done to any other fashion image or celebrity portrait. I also do not understand where this mean streak that is pervasive in the community is coming from. Woman are treated like prize bulls. "She is too fat" or "She is too thin" or "OMG look I can see her bones" or "FUCK HER SHE'S A PIG". What is up with that sort of sexist mentality. Every woman is unique that goes for models and celebrities as well. People come in all shapes and sizes and all have the capacity to be seen and experienced as beautiful.
That being said I do hope that Ms. Winehouse gets some serious help. It would be a great loss of talent should she succumb to her addictions.
Agreed, pretty much every photo in every magazine is photoshopped to hell so the fact that these ones have had a lot of touching up is realy no big deal. It's the prize bull attitude that probably led to Amy's downfall as well, and being a female pop singer is hard work as glossy mags catalogue every sign of cellulite and pimple, and lead to horrendous loss of self esteem.
A friend of mine knew Amy when she was a young thing going out in Camden before she broke through and knew her as a feisty, happy and beautiful girl who just oozed charisma - now thanks to the press having thier way with her she's wound up bulemic and drug addled, and in need of some serious help.
I hate it how people make fun of the drug/alcohol/eating disorder etc. problems she has in real life. Yes she's troubled and yes we've seen her looking way worse than these "photoshopped to death" pictures but she's a singer, and that's what she does well. Her voice is amazing and her music is amazing. Obviously everybody has a right to feel whatever they feel about her, but..I don't know. I just think it's sad that when people see a person who clearly needs help they just laugh at her ugliness.
