She's actually a good model, I just don't like her. Photography is great though, but that's to be expected with such a photographer. Good to see he's not dropping the ball.
And I don't know why it's called "Bollywood Dreams" when you don't see anything absolutely Indian until the final one. You can't even tell she's in Mumbai. What?
.....*blinks* Why would they call it that if 1) you can't even tell that's the theme, and 2) she's not Indian, that's the whole reason I clicked on this.
This a horrible editorial, taste, style, model, name. Ugh.
i'm guessing they called it 'bollywood dreams' because it's for vogue india, and was shot on the set of a bollywood film.
i think it'd be cool for them to have used an indian model, but whatever. it's more unexpected to see a white girl in this setting. the photographer's trying to create some effect, i'm sure he's not saying, 'white people are more beautiful than indian people.'
I think that she is really beautiful but also...boring! I used to like Gemma but she has the same face in every photo, in every editorial...to my disappointment.
That last picture seems weak to me because the woman in silver is a focal point, and the woman in white is a focal point, so they are forced by composition into having a relationship. Rather than exploit this, however, the photographer ignores it. Woman in Silver doesn't even seem like she belongs in that shot.
The last one I think is a two-page spread, so technically, Gemma is the focal point on the left page, and the woman in white is one for the right page; it prolly works better when you're looking at the magazine in person than as a scan.
this is from the new movie Saawariya.. though moulin rouge was based off of bollywood anyway. and this movie is very moulin-rouge esc and financed by sony O.o
i agree with people how say the last picture is weak i really don't know where to focus on: the girl in the white or gemma in silver. maybe its the quality of the last picture, but gemma looks kinda fat no offense.
Its kind of a stereotype to just go ahead and label Bollywood all about colors and stuff. These were taken on the sets of a BOLLYWOOD FILM called Saawariya so dur it is Bollywood. Bollywood isn't just one thing anymore y'know. They've branched off into all sorts of things things. Its all happening very fast. But I agree they could have been a little more colorful.
I don't mind that Gemma is in the editorial. In fact I'm happy to see her there because I think this editorial is amazing. Its almost as if your a dream. But I do hope they start using Indian models + designers. I'm still waiting for a coverage on JJ Valaya. LOVE his work!
I still want this premiere issue of Vogue India but I don't know where to get it! :(
i know it seems like every magazine premieres with gemma for new country, like Vogue Nippon, Vogue China, Vogue India all coverstars were gemma. im sick of it, Vogue alone is a good publicity, they dont need use gemma to open the issue anymore. enough is enough, i dont hate her but i'm sick of it.
Love the outfit from the first photo.... my favorite photo from the shoot is the second to the last.. love that purple?blue? eyeliner/mascara !*!* nice makeup....
I think I would have liked this shoot...if she was...oh.. .. flanked by those hot Bollywood men... !
I'm confused by why it's titled Bollywood Dreams. It states that it is on the set of "Saawariya", a new Bollywood film but they should have shown some actors or something that would've tied the theme together.
I like the 8th one down but that's about it. I also agree with the comment above--where's the Indian model?? A Bollywood shoot without an Indian model--it just seems wrong.

The set, and the dresses, reminds me of an editorial at Cinecittà by Dolce&Gabbana...

Gemma. Not Indian. Hm.
That's really the only thing that bothers me. The lack of Indian models in a supposed Bollywood theme.
*Sigh*
Other than that, I suppose the pictures are pretty dreamy.
